meg's top 3 | rainy day movies

As we are heading into winter here in Australia, the weather is taking a turn for the miserable.
The past 3 or four days have been chilly, and drizzly all day, and unfortunately I've had to cancel plans of wandering around the city and cute picnics with my friends. Instead of dwelling on the negatives, I've taken the opportunity to whip out my favourite rainy day movies. There's always particular situations I associate with films, whether it be that they are best watched with friends, or maybe it's a movie I have to watch alone at night or in the morning with a cup of coffee and pancakes. My favourite type of movies, however, are the ones I watch on rainy days.
~
I.
YELLOW SUBMARINE (1968)
Eclectic colours, abstract ideas and beautiful music; what more would you expect from The Beatles? Featuring some of their most famous songs, such as When I'm 64,  Nowhere Man, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and All you need is Love, this movie will make you feel like making art and going on adventures. Completely weird, but in the best possible way this movie is perfect to watch draped across your bed in cosy clothes with rain drizzling down outside.

~
II.
THE SOUND OF MUSIC (1965)
For me, rainy days are about renewing old favourites. Diving into your childhood to find movies that bring you absolute nostalgic joy. The sound of music was a childhood favourite of mine. I have bountiful memories of watching this movie over and over again at my Granny's house with my sister. We used to put on reenactments of the song So long, Farewell for our family every night before going to bed. I was always so infatuated by Liesl's beautiful dress worn while singing You are Sixteen, and feeling personally attacked when Rolf joins the Nazi party.

III.
10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU
Honestly, this is probably my all time favourite movie. I've watched it countless times and probably could quote the whole movie if you asked me to. I don't know what it is about this movie but I just adore it. I never get sick of it no matter how often I do watch it. Honestly I am at a lack of words for this movie... if you haven't watched it before go watch it right now!!!

RED, WHITE & BLUE

Hey Everyone,
Sorry for the lack of posts recently, I've been feeling a bit brain-dead recently.
Luckily that was all fixed by a relaxing and rejuvenating week on and island in sunny Malaysia.
I am back now and motivated to post as much as possible. I took loads of video footage in Malaysia so you can expect to see a video on my youtube soon!
In the meantime I thought I would share some photos from when I went to Chapel street with some friends. We went to the incredible Soda Rock diner. The food was amazing and the people were so friendly. It's all retro themed and I loved it! You can expect to see these photos on my Instagram very soon...

my sweater, jeans and necklace are all from Topshop

and i'm feeling good...

Hey everyone.
I am in such a fantastic mood. We finished school on Friday, so I now have three weeks of holidays to look forward to. Also on Friday, I got my first job! I'm really excited to be able to start earning my own money.
On Tuesday I was off school sick, so I decided to seize the opportunity to take some pictures of some bits and bobs I own. I got a really nice clear cup from typo recently and I love it. I was looking through our old national geographic magazines and found my old copy of Macbeth from the 70s.

MY BEAN

 Hello  Everyone,
So I have finally finished exams, and due to the Queens birthday and some pupil free days, I am about to have a whole 5 days off school!!!
I realized today that I never introduced my adorable new friend, Archie.
Every time we move, my parents promise a dog, and we finally got one. He is much loved in our house and is growing very fast so I thought I'd share some photos, and I can tell you, my next 5 school free days will be spent cuddling this cutie.
xx

LUSH : Titsy Totsy, Dragon's Egg and Twilight

Ahoy Sailors,
My name is Meghan, and I am a Lush addict.
Over the past two weeks, I have made countless trips into Lush.
I have been loving their bath bombs, and probably have had a bath every single day these holidays.
I thought it would be a good idea to show you a few of the bath bombs I have had, share some pictures, and give my opinions on them.
so here goes...
~
I.
Titsy Totsy Bath Bomb
Unlike most Lush Bath bombs, this rose scented beauty doesn't provide much colour to your bath. Despite this, Titsy Totsy is one of my favourite bath bombs. The rose smell it very fresh and clean smelling, and reminded me of turkish delight. This is one bath bomb I would 100% recommend.
~
II.
Dragon's Egg Bath Bomb
The Dragon's Egg bath bomb was a nice colourful surprise.
Despite it's colourless exterior, as it fizzed it revealed a sparkling golden centre.
It had a very sweet, lemongrass scent that was very refreshing.
My only issue with this bath bomb was cleaning it up. The bath bomb had confetti in it that suck to the bath.
~
III.
Twilight Bath Bomb
This was one of the most relaxing bath bombs I have had. The prominent lavender scent almost put me to sleep. I personally wasn't ecstatic about the end colour of the bath, a rather dull lavender colour, but in general I enjoyed this bath bomb.
~
So there you have it. Some of the bath bombs I have had recently.
I purchased a few more lush products recently so if you would like to see another post like this, please let me know.

blog appreciation post : Kiki Tyler

Ahoy Sailors,
Almost everyday, I manage to get to school far too early.
Instead of revising, doing homework, or really anything productive, I like to waste time browsing through all of my favourite blogs.
The first blog I check is ALWAYS Kiki Tyler,
and let me tell you; reading this blog is no waste of time.
Her constant outflow of posts are incredibly inspiring to me. She features rustic looking photos of incredibly stylish bohemian outfits. Even when clothes are not involved, there are always gorgeous photos of cute items or aesthetically pleasing food.
Even when there are no new blog posts, I always can see more of her talent on her youtube : rosykid
or her instagram: @cctylr
So definitely check this girl out, if you haven't already.
You won't regret it.

DOLCE & GABBANA

I think one of my favourite fashion shows this year was Dolce and Gabbana.
There was something so incredible about this years's FW show.
The use of colours, textures and shapes was appealing to the trends, while still being incredibly unique and fun.
So here are my 5 favourite looks from Dolce and Gabbana FW15

January Inspiration : 1960s

Ahoy Sailors,
So recently I've been channeling a lot of inspiration from all thing 1960s. I love the light colours and the shape of all the clothing. I feel like 1960s mod clothing is made in really flattering shapes. I've also really been liking 1960s makeup. I think the minimal makeup on the face and the emphasis on the eyes is really flattering and looks gorgeous. So here are some images of things that have been inspiring me this month. 1960s and other.
